Rebecca Shapiro, NWFA Licensed Massage Therapist, received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI where she was a Division 1 athlete and obtained her bachelor’s in Movement Science focusing on Biomechanics, Motor Control, and Exercise Physiology. Fascinated by human structure, she worked in a gross anatomy cadaver lab studying and teaching musculoskeletal form. Rebecca then went on to study at East West College of the Healing Arts to gain licensure as a Massage Therapist.
In the clinic, Rebecca specializes in massage treatments of the lower limb for an athletic population. Sessions are tailored to meet the client’s needs; techniques include a combination of compression, trigger point, deep tissue, Myofascial and Swedish. She also assists patients with ongoing foot and ankle concerns to support long-term lower extremity health.
Rebecca is a Portland native, former EMT and has an eclectic work background with experience as an adventure guide, and professional ski instructor. Rebecca enjoys cycling, sewing, and travel.
